Now anyone NOT living in Siberia will know that Channel 9 is premiering The Apprentice on Monday night at 9.30pm and it looks great. My only concern is that it is a later start time and a 90 minute first episode will viewers have the stamina to stick it out. Also it will be running against the much hyped Flash Forward.

On Wednesday Celebrity MasterChef starts on Channel Ten in the family friendly timeslot of 7.30pm. First up will be Kirk Pengilly, comedian Josh Thomas, and Indira Naidoo. My tip is Indira for the win. It will be interesting to see if this celebrity spin-off will attract the viewers as the first season of MasterChef Australia. It will be up against the ever popular Channel Seven show World’s Strictest Parents.

Gary Mehigan, Matt Preston and George Calombaris will reprise their roles, however Sarah Wilson was deemed excess to requirements.

Not really a reality TV show but Channel 9 are premiering A Secret Millionaire on Thursday October 8. This show which is a take off of the UK version which is shown on the Lifestyle Channel has a wealthy benefactor going into an impoverished community and working undercover, they then decide who could benefit from a cash handout. Russell Crowe will narrate the series. So if you see a person looking very uncomfortable in Lowe’s clothes being followed by TV cameras be nice to them as you may get some cash.

The Rachel Zoe Project Season 2 will be premiering on Arena TV on October 6. This show was a surprise for me last year, I thought I would hate her and the show, but I am a huge fan.In fact I look forward to my Rachel Zoe email letter each day in my inbox. Highly recommended. Also Brad, Taylor, and her husband Roger are also back in this series.

Another really great show that has just started on Arena on Wednesday night at 7.30pm is Tabatha’s Takeover Salon. Tabatha who was a contestant on Season 1 of Shear Genius,a hairdressing reality TV show, does a Gordon Ramsay but in failing hair salons. It may get a bit formulaic by the end of the season, but Tabatha does not hold back. And just when you think the telling off scenes are set up in these shows, in the last episode I thought she showed remarkable restraint, when really the owner was so lazy and dumb she should have decked  him.

Also just starting last week is The Fashion Show,  which Bravo TV commissioned to replace Project Runway  which moved to Lifetime. Kelly Rowland and Issac Mizrahi are hosts.

A  new series of The Amazing Race will be commencing soon on Channel Seven, I think this will be the 15th season in the very enjoyable series. Also congratulations to the show for winning another Emmy for Best Reality TV show.

Channel Seven will be hoping for strong ratings for their new show Beauty and the Geek  where you guessed it beauty match up with geeks and there is eliminations each week. The whole premise of the show seems a bit trashy, however I will be watching it.  No premier date has been announced as yet.

Fox 8 will be screening New Zealand’s Next Top Model series, starting on October 13 at 7.30pm. Sara Tetro is the host.

W channel also has a modelling reality TV show premiering on Saturday October . Hosted by supermodel Kim Alexis, She’s Got The Look is a modelling competition to find and crown America’s first over-35 supermodel and re-define beauty. The judging panel consists of modeling great Beverly Johnson (in 1974, she was the first African-American to grace the cover of VOGUE), stylist Robert Verdi (recently seen in The September Issue) and President of Wilhelmina Models Sean Patterson.

No news on when the latest Project Runway from the US will be screened or when Top Chef Las Vegas will commence.
